🧠 One Month, One Focus
How to get real results in the next 30 days.

Hey there! Welcome back to The Flow by Flocus. If you’re new around here, welcome! 👋 You can catch up on our previous editions right here.
This week: Your next 30 days don’t need a master plan, just a North Star to guide you.
One month, one focus: what that means, how to apply it, and ways to make it real. Let’s get to it!
🧠 Why Less is More
Lately, we’ve talked a lot about how busy this season tends to be for folks all around the world.
But “busy” doesn’t have to mean cramming your month with more than you can handle.
Juggling too many short-term goals leads to mental clutter and low follow-through.
A single theme for your month brings coherence to your energy, time, and choices.
“One focus” doesn’t mean doing only one thing for the whole month, though — it’s about anchoring your direction.
With this in mind, how do you narrow down to one focus? Let’s take a look.
🔍 How to Choose Your Focus
🧩 Look at the patterns
What’s felt loud, neglected, or important lately?
Think about areas that are getting too much of your time and attention, as well as things that deserve more of your energy.
As you think through your patterns and rhythms, you’ll notice your answers will fall into 2 categories:
✌️ Things to release or put on the backburner
🔋 Things to prioritize and lean into
If it helps, make a list for each — then, you can move on to the next step with clarity and maybe even a little excitement!
💐 Consider what you want to do
“If I only made progress in one area this month, what would I want it to be?”
You probably have a million things that you need or have to do, but don’t necessarily want to do.
Choosing something you’re actually keen to focus on will help you stick to it.
And if your focus ends up being on something “boring” or “necessary”? That’s okay, too. You can always find ways to make it a little more fun or joyful.
🤏 Narrow it down to 1 word
In the interest of keeping things simple, your focus can be as simple as just one word to prompt you.
This “word” can be a category, a feeling, a goal, or an area of your life, for example:
😴 rest
📤 output
🧹 organizing
🫶 self-trust
👯 relationships
🛠️ Make it Real
To really make the idea stick, try these 4 tips:
✍️ Declare your focus in (private) writing — Jotting down your focus in your journal, calendar, or notes app gives you something to refer back to and build on throughout the month. We recommend doing this privately (and not as a social media post) to avoid “tricking” your brain into thinking you’ve already done some of the work by posting.
🔍 Use your focus as a filter for future thoughts and actions — For the next 30 days, filter your days using this question: “Does this support or distract from my focus?”
🫖 Build a monthly ritual around it — Ever sat down at the start / end of the month to review, reflect, and check in with yourself? If not, give it a try! Bonus points for making it enjoyable with a fancy beverage, colorful pens, etc.
💭 Invite curiosity — So many of us are notorious for defaulting to the worst-case scenario. Try to get curious about what will go right instead: “What might shift if I really honored this monthly focus?”
