Hey there! Welcome back to The Flow by Flocus. If you’re new around here, welcome! 👋  You can catch up on our previous editions right here.

This week: You don’t celebrate yourself enough. We’re breaking down why you need to start and how to move past the discomfort to create your own “brag sheet” — let’s dive in!

🤔 Why’s It So Hard to Celebrate Yourself?

Last week, we talked about celebrating the tiny wins. And while we thought our tips were pretty solid, we also know it’s a lot easier said than done.

If you’re someone who struggles to celebrate yourself?

Or finds it much easier to uplift a friend than accept a compliment?

This one’s for you 💜

As someone who’s committed to personal development, you’re always striving, growing, moving forward.

You have a lot of responsibility — there’s little time for extended rest or idleness.

So when you reach one milestone, you forge right on ahead to the next one without:

  • 😮‍💨 Pausing to catch your breath

  • 🤲 Appreciating the effort you put in to get here

  • 😴 Resting up properly to replenish and avoid burnout

It’s no wonder why you find it hard to celebrate yourself.

You probably don’t even see just how awesome and hard-working you are, because you’re stuck in turbo mode, always looking ahead.

Today, we’re sharing a quick tool you can start using today to slow down and soak up all those small wins.

We call it a “brag sheet” — read on to learn what it is and how to make your own!

🏆 What’s a Brag Sheet?

A brag sheet is a space for all the cool stuff you’ve done. It’s a place to brag on yourself, or reflect on those times that others complimented you instead.

If “brag” feels icky to you, feel free to call it something else, like your “inspiration space”. Whatever name you choose, here are some things you might like to put in it:

  • ⭐️ Milestones you’ve achieved

  • 💬 Nice things other people have said about you

  • 🤨 Times you were most proud of / confident in yourself

  • 🧠 Personality traits you like most about yourself

  • 🛠️ Skills you’ve worked hard to learn

No item is too big or too small for the brag sheet — everything counts!

Now that you know what it is, how do you go about creating your own? Scroll on to find out!

🎁 How to Create Your Own Brag Sheet

Your brag sheet doesn’t have to be a “sheet” at all — though a running list is a simple way to get started.

Here are a few tips for creating this uplifting space in both physical and digital formats.

📓 Physical

  • Decorate a journal, scrapbook, box, or bulletin board.

  • Include handwritten notes, cards, and other personalized items.

  • Put your brag space on display so you can be inspired by it every day.

📱 Digital

  • Use an app that lets you add text, photos, videos, and other files (we ❤️ Notion).

  • Screenshot nice texts and comments from others, then add them to your space.

  • Add a shortcut to your phone for quick access.
